Dear Parents/Guardians,

My name is Mrs. Danielle Istrico. I am pleased to inform you that your child will be participating in theatre class this school year. I am extremely excited to be joining the PS 160 community and I bring my 17 years of experience as a performing arts teacher with me. I specialize in musical theatre, love all things Disney, and I am a former competitive dancer and Division I college cheerleader. With that being said I am here to cheer on your children all year long. My goal is to provide a safe and fun learning experience in which your child is engaged in the performing arts where we will work together to build upon their confidence and ability to speak and perform in front of large audiences. My class works to strengthen a wide variety of theatre techniques such as tableaus, pantomime, improvisation, onstage acting skills as well as backstage skills. We will also work on basic dance and singing techniques.

Being as theatre is a participatory class, I ask for your assistance in encouraging your child to participate in class so that they can have the best learning experience possible. We will have class once a week so attendance is extremely important. In order to maintain a safe learning environment please make sure that your child comes prepared to class with comfortable clothing and sneakers.

I am looking forward to meeting you all and working with your children this year. If you need anything please do not hesitate to contact me on class dojo or at DIstrico@schools.nyc.gov

Warm Regards,

Mrs. Istrico
